TESTIMONY DISCIPLE TIMOTHY
Being in the D12 School can be expressed in two words. It’s awesome and painful.
Awesome because I serve an awesome God. Awesome because He sees my life as a whole picture. Awesome because His work in me is far more greater than I could ever imagine. “Thank You” is not enough to express my gratitude toward God. It is all about Him.
Painful, because of the sacrifices God requires from those who follow Him. His corrections shatter my pride. Dying to self is not easy. But in all of these I rejoice. For through these painful times I learned and experienced how God loves me and how faithful He is.
Taking the path of being a disciple is hard because it’s humility and the road of humility is full of thorns. But as for me if it’s through suffering that I can get to know Jesus, then I choose to take that path. Sufferings cannot compare to the joy of knowing Jesus.
Every day is a challenging day but always very exciting. The combination of teaching and ministry helps me to learn to die to self and to let the Holy Spirit lead and guide me. It is so awesome to see how God works in our lives to make us more and more into the likeness of our Creator and King Jesus Christ.
Perhaps the most challenging moment in my Christian life was when the church switched to 24/7 prayer. It really shook the church and the members. It was like hell broke loose. Perseverance, faithfulness, loyalty, humility and love were all tested at the same time.
God began to deal with me too. Thinking that I was okay spiritually, but realizing suddenly that I had fallen away from my first love for Jesus. How faithful and patient is the Lord.
Step by step I am learning that no matter what happens never leave your first love. Make Jesus your priority and not your ministry. As God told me one time: “Your availability to sit and listen at my feet is much more important than your ability to work for me.” Don’t misunderstand me, my ability to serve Him is important because otherwise nothing will get done for the Kingdom of God, but not the most important.
As God’s word teaches that those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength and mount up with wings like eagles.. (Isaiah 40:31).Your success and mine are depending on how much you prioritize Jesus in your life. For true poverty is life without God.
Thank God for D12 School, it is not just a DiscipleshipTraining School. It is a DivineTransformingSchool. Be blessed always in Jesus name.
Timothy
